Winning is fun. Telling your friends you won is fun. Receiving recognition and being congratulated for a good work is truly amazing!
I don’t believe anyone dislikes getting an award.
This is why more companies are giving awards to their employees. Awards are the simple and easy way to make your employees happy – why wouldn’t you do it?
Here are some reasons why companies should give out awards
1. Winning is fun!
Getting an award is a moral booster. No doubt a happy employee do good in his job. Employees who feel good about their abilities and their contributions to a company or team are more likely to be happy, content and motivated. When they are recognized for their efforts, they will also continue in their desire to excel.
2. It helps Retain Employees
Another factor that needs to be considered is the importance of retaining good employees and personnel. Many companies invest a significant amount, time and resources in training their employees only to have them leave for other careers or so called better opportunities. The small costs of presenting an award or gift would not compare to the significant amount of money and effort invested in employees that would be lost when a company loses a valuable employee.
3. Good Publicity
Winners talk about their awards. For an employee, an award from your little company may not warrant a press release but I bet it still makes it into the display case and I bet they still talk about it-especially in their social media accounts.
